Hi, I’m Sekema (lovingly known as Kema) and those who know me describe me as energetic, music-loving, sister-friend who loves to empower and encourage women to live radiantly. I am passionate advocate for women’s growth, spiritual depth, and intentional living.

I am the author of Be Still: Rewriting Life’s Rhythm in the Presence of God’s Peace and through my writing, mentorship, and speaking, I do my best to inspire women to thrive in faith, purpose, and community. 

I am proud native of the Caribbean island of Antigua—home to 365 beautiful beaches, and I carry my roots with joy. I embrace my royal identity as a beloved daughter of God, who is deeply grounded in Christ.

With over 20 years of experience leading, mentoring, and creating empowering experiences, I integrate my people-centered approach across business, faith, and social spheres—fostering environments where individuals feel seen, valued, and empowered.

I treasure my roles as wife, mom, sister, auntie, and friend—relationships that bring me great joy and continually shape my heart and perspective. These roles enrich both my life and my ministry, reminding me that purpose and love always walk hand in hand.

I reside in Maryland with my family, serving as both the Co-CEO and COO (Chief Operating Officer) of my home, while also embracing the beauty of hanging up the cape and allowing myself to not be every woman all the time.

Flourishing Passionately

I am unapologetically passionate about helping women live intentionally by embracing their God-given identity and walking confidently and boldly in their purpose. I help women flourish from the inside out — in faith, clarity, and everyday life.

I’m always armed with a smile and a song (because my life is a musical), and I truly believe God has given me the gift of gab, which I’ve vowed to use for His glory – so I do. Whether I’m writing, speaking, mentoring, or just sharing a little encouragement straight from my heart, my message is simple, yet powerful:

Bloom beautifully, boldly, and brilliantly — right where you’re planted.

When I’m not writing, speaking, leading, or mentoring, you’ll probably find me:

  • soaking in peaceful mornings of stillness and reflection

  • sipping tea or hot cocoa over deep, meaningful conversations

  • laughing loudly through game nights with friends

  • cozying up for a movie night with my family

  • getting lost in a really good book or podcast

  • exploring a new lip color, fragrance, or skincare routine

  • exploring ways to flourish in my current season of life.

Because if my life says anything, I want it to say this: you can flourish beautifully and passionately with God, no matter the season you’re in.

Flourishing Faithfully

My relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing to me. Yup, I’m a Jesus girl and I pray that you get glimpses of His character through me.

I am devoted to helping women see the beauty in their becoming—embracing every season of womanhood and the sacred strength of sisterhood. Through my words—whether written or spoken—I highlight the reality of my own journey and remind others that they are never walking alone. 

My heart speaks through every post, page, pause, and prayer.

From my soulful reflections shared online and mentoring moments, to workshops to speaking engagements, I do my best to remind women that growth, grace, and God’s Presence meet us right where we are - even in the messy middle.

For over a decade, I have faithfully served in Women’s Ministries leadership in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, encouraging leaders to build thriving, faith-filled communities.

My greatest calling is serving God by inspiring others through words. As a writer, speaker, and visionary leader, I enjoy creating vibrant spaces where women can embrace their royal identity as beloved daughters of God, flourish in faith, and walk confidently in their God-given calling.
